Parents Night Out
Parent’s Night Out at the Baierl Family YMCA
Take a well-deserved break while your kids enjoy a fun-filled evening at the Y! Parent’s Night Out is the perfect chance for you to enjoy a date night or some downtime, while your little ones are engaged in safe, exciting activities with our caring staff.
This program is open exclusively to YMCA members and welcomes children ages 2 to 11 years. Kids will enjoy games, crafts, and interactive play, with a light snack provided halfway through the evening.
Ages: 2 – 11 years
Cost: $25.00 per child (Member Exclusive)

The Knight School of Chess
The Knight School Chess Program
Ages 5–12 | 6-Weeks
The Baierl Family YMCA is proud to partner with The Knight School of Pittsburgh to bring exciting, high-energy chess programming to our community! Designed for ages 5–12, this one-of-a-kind experience combines strategy, fun, and skill-building in a vibrant, kid-centered environment.
The Knight School’s nationally celebrated “chess party” approach transforms total beginners into confident chess masters—all while having a blast. Through fun tournaments, team games, silly videos, and memorable tactics, students develop critical thinking, resilience, and sportsmanship on and off the board.
Each enrolled student will receive:
A Knight School T-Shirt
Their very own chess set to use and keep
A custom chess bag
Colorful TactixBands earned throughout the season
Your child will gain new skills, build confidence, and have a blast mastering the game of chess!
