Camp Kon-O-Kwee Counselor in Training Program
CIT Application
The YMCA Camp Kon-O-Kwee Spencer Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program is a selective leadership development opportunity designed for high school students entering 11th grade. This program prepares teens to grow into future counselors by beginning with a week of training in leadership, camper care, YMCA values, and counseling skills, followed by hands-on experience under the guidance of a mentor counselor. Because of the important role CITs play in supporting the camp community, this program requires a parent-submitted application and staff approval before registration can be completed. After your application is submitted, a member of our staff will contact you with next steps. Parents, please have your camper’s insurance card and a list of all medications they’ll need at camp. Start the process today by submitting your application and setting your camper on the path to becoming a counselor.
