In these discussions we will present actionable information to help participants better understand how you can optimize your movement overall health. Bring a friend, a family member, or neighbor! The Presenter: Dr. Colin Gundling is a physical therapist with extensive experience in working with individuals across the lifespan.  His expertise includes orthopedics, balance, sports, pain management, and much more.  He is passionate about educating the public on ways that each individual can work to improve their healthspan.

October 24th- Total Joint Surgery: deciding to do it, preparing for it and rehabbing from it.

November 21st- Build Your Balance House: The science behind avoiding falls

December 19th- The Exercise Pyramid: Take a dive into the different types of exercise and the importance of each.

January 16th- The Low Down on Low Back Pain: understanding and managing the most common orthopedic condition.

February 20th- The Good and the Bad of Inflammation: Inflammation is a normal response to stress, but it can be problematic.

March 20th- What does the Diagnosis of Osteoarthritis Mean to You?

April 17th – Bone Mineral Density: What is the concern and what can be done.

Join us at the Sampson Family YMCA as Penn State Extension will be hosting a Dining with Diabetes Program in our community room.

For adults with type 2 diabetes or prediabetes and their families, this program will increase your knowledge of healthy food choices and diabetes management.

Join Us for a Festive Holiday Event at the Sampson Family YMCA!

Mark your calendars for a morning of holiday cheer on Saturday, December 7th, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM! Bring the whole family to meet Santa Claus and capture a magical moment with him. Warm up with delicious hot chocolate and let your creativity shine during our gingerbread cookie decorating activity.

We are excited to announce our 1st Annual Pedal for a Purpose event at the Sampson Family YMCA!

What is Pedal for A Purpose you may ask??

Pedal for a Purpose is an event that sole’s purpose is to expand awareness and raise much needed funds for our Annual Campaign here at the Y.  The YMCA does great work each and every day, in relation to providing assistance to the community in multiple ways.  Everything from financial assistance for membership, programs, Before & After school care, Summer Camp, Livestrong at the YMCA program and more!

Pedal For a Purpose will be taking place on Monday, December 2nd from 7AM-7PM in the Welcome Center Lobby.

Our target giving goal for this event is $7.838 and with your support, we certainly believe it is achievable!  Throughout the month of November, children and youth throughout the YMCA will have the opportunity to write letters to Santa and drop them in the bin located in the welcome center.

The day of Pedal for a Purpose, we are going to deliver all the letters to Santa at the North Pole!(Alaska).  The distance from the Sampson Family YMCA to the North Pole and returning back to Sampson, is 7,838 miles.

$1 donated during the event equals 1 mile toward our travels!
