We’re celebrating kids’ health and wellness with an amazing lineup of local organizations and activities the whole family will love.
Get ready to connect with fantastic groups like Benchmark Family Services, Case Specific Nutrition, Holiday Park Volunteer Fire Department, Sound Advice Entertainment, Kona Ice, Pittsburgh Eatz Food Truck, Macaroni Kid – Pittsburgh East, Monroeville Library, Music Together, Remax Select Realty, Plum Boro Police Department, Plum Library, Plum Emergency Medical Services, Sampson Morris Group, UPMC Health Plan, UPMC East, Visit Monroeville, and the Monroeville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Bring your kids for a day packed with interactive fun, tasty treats, and opportunities to learn about living a healthy, active lifestyle. We’ll have a DJ spinning tunes, face painting, a balloon artist, a photo booth, plus games, arts & crafts, a Jungle Inflatable, a youth speed & agility course, and more kid-friendly activities! The first 250 participants will score a free Healthy Kids Day T-Shirt. Don’t miss your chance to enter our 50-50 raffle for a shot at winning a year of free YMCA membership. From emergency service heroes to local food favorites and family-friendly entertainment, there’s something for everyone!

Join us for an inspiring watercolor painting workshop at the YMCA, where we’ll explore the vibrant, flowing, and expressive techniques of Georgia O’Keeffe. Known for her breathtaking floral paintings, sweeping landscapes, and bold use of color, O’Keeffe’s style is perfect for both beginners and experienced artists alike.

Grow with Us: Herb Garden Starter Workshop

Join us on Tuesday, April 29th to help launch the YMCA Teaching Kitchen Vegetable Garden with a hands-on herb garden workshop! This event focuses on creating herb garden and vegetable garden starters: you’ll make one to contribute to the YMCA’s community garden and another to take home for yourself.

The workshop will be held in the YMCA Community Room and the Outside Raised Garden Bed Area, blending indoor learning with outdoor planting. Pick the session that works for you:

9 AM to 1 PM or 4 PM to 8 PM.

What to Expect:

  • Step-by-step instruction on planting and caring for herbs
  • Hands-on experience crafting herb garden starters for the YMCA and yourself
  • All materials provided—no need to bring anything
  • Open to all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned gardeners

Note: Dress comfortably and be ready for outdoor gardening fun!

By joining, you’ll pick up practical gardening skills, support a community project, and enjoy fresh herbs at home all season long.
