Active Older Adult Fall Bingo Day

Join us at the Baierl Family YMCA for an afternoon of laughter, community, and classic Bingo fun! Our Active Older Adult (AOA) Fall Bingo Day is the perfect way to connect with friends, enjoy upbeat music, and win some exciting prizes.

This lively gathering includes a community potluck, so bring your favorite dish to share and enjoy a meal with fellow members. Whether you’re a seasoned Bingo champ or just love the thrill of the game, everyone is welcome.

Come for the Bingo, stay for the bites, and leave with big smiles and great memories!

Join us for a relaxing and creative evening at our Plant & Sip event—an alcohol-free twist on paint night fun! Sip on refreshing mocktails while you create your very own plant-themed masterpiece, guided step-by-step by an experienced local artist.

No painting experience? No problem! This event is perfect for all skill levels and offers a welcoming space to unwind, socialize, and express your creativity. All supplies are included—just bring your imagination!

Enjoy a day of Pickleball and win prizes with friends, family, and other Y members! The tournament will be held in a Round Robin style. Teams can be submitted together or can be selected from a player pool (if available). This tournament is open to all skill levels—whether you’re brand new to pickleball or a seasoned player. Open to Members and Non-Members 16+.

Join us for a festive morning of movement and fun at our Dance Fitness Costume Party!  This special event will feature high energy dance activities, a photo booth to capture the excitement and a costume contest with prizes awarded in the following categories: Most Original, Funniest, Scariest, and Overall Best.  Members who attend can also enjoy a light refreshment station to recharge after dancing!

Date & Time: Saturday November 1st, 10:30am-12pm

Location: The Sampson Family YMCA Gymnasium

Participants will receive freshly baked cookies to decorate with a variety of colorful icing, sprinkles, and other festive toppings. Let your imagination run wild as you design your own holiday masterpieces. Once you’re done, you can take your cookies home to share or enjoy them as a delicious treat!

Pancakes with Santa
Date & Time: Saturday, December 13 • 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: Baierl Family YMCA

Kick off the holiday season with a morning full of festive fun! Join us for a delicious pancake brunch and the special opportunity for your child to meet Santa Claus in person. Families can enjoy a warm stack of pancakes, create seasonal holiday crafts, and capture memorable moments with Santa.

This community celebration is open to everyone, but registration is required for both members and non-members. Please reserve your spot by Friday, December 6 to secure your family’s visit with Santa.

Pumpkin Splash & Paint at the Sampson YMCA

Make a splash this Fall! Kids will dive in and swim out and collect their very own pumpkin, then head to our craft stations to decorate and paint it to take home. A fun mix of pool time, creativity, and Halloween spirit!

What to Bring & Reminders:

• Please bring a swimsuit and towel.

• Non-swimmers must be accompanied in the water by a parent or guardian.

• Pumpkins and painting supplies will be provided.

East Suburban Sports Medicine Center will be hosting a Senior Fitness Testing event on Tuesday, November 11th from 10AM-12PM in the Gymnasium!

The ESSMC Senior Fitness Test is a great resource for testing the fitness levels of older adults. The test results provide information to both the participant and the instructor regarding the  participant’s fitness level and compares that level to others in their age category.

Why test seniors? 

Fitness is very important for those in their senior years. Older adults need to  have adequate strength, flexibility, and endurance to accomplish everyday tasks. Assessing these components of fitness can detect weaknesses which can be treated before causing serious functional limitations.

What tests are included? 

The individual fitness test items involve common activities; such as getting up  from a chair, walking, lifting, bending, and stretching. The tests were developed to be safe and enjoyable for older adults, while still meeting scientific  standards for reliability and validity.

The following tests are part of the Senior Fitness Test and are designed to test the  functional fitness of seniors: 

Chair Stand Test — tests lower body strength  

Arm Curl Test — tests upper body strength 

Step in Place Test (2 minutes) — aerobic fitness 

Chair Sit and Reach Test — lower body flexibility test  

Back Scratch Test — upper body flexibility test 

8-Foot Timed Up and Go Test — agility test

🎃 Trunk or Treat – Baierl Family YMCA Member Ticket Registration

Cost: Free (Registration required)
Ages: 1 year and older (Children under 1 are free)

Join us for a spook-tacular afternoon of Halloween fun at the Baierl Family YMCA’s annual Trunk or Treat event! This registration is for current YMCA members only and includes access to all event activities. Each ticket admits one child (1 year and older) and includes trick-or-treating, games, crafts, and more!

Don’t forget to wear your costumes and bring your treat bags—this is one of our most exciting events of the year!

👻 Trunk or Treat – Non-Member Ticket Registration

Cost: $10.00 per child
Ages: 1 year and older (Children under 1 are free)

You’re invited to join the fun at the Baierl Family YMCA’s Trunk or Treat celebration on October 25th! This registration is for non-members and provides access to our Halloween-themed event, including decorated trunks, activities, crafts, and games.

Each ticket is required for every child (1 year and older) attending. Children under 1 are free. Come in costume and get ready for an afternoon full of festive family fun!

Cost: $45.00
Perks: 2 free child tickets + an event goodie bag+
