Aquatics: Swim Team (Ages 4yrs - 18yrs)
The YMCA Swim Team of Greater Pittsburgh is dedicated to fostering swimming skills for individuals of all ages and abilities. Our swimmers develop strength, speed, and endurance while honing their stroke technique through our comprehensive swim team programs, which also provide competitive opportunities. We offer a regional program spanning the Pittsburgh area, where swim teams uphold the YMCA’s core values and encourage personal progression, goal setting, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Our programs are available year-round for individuals aged 5 and above, ensuring accessible and continuous development opportunities.
JR Sharks Swim Team
Swimmers must have completed level 6 are able to swim 25 yards of freestyle and backstroke/tread water for 1 min. This class is for swimmers who want to be on the main swim team but still need to develop endurance and technique while starting to learn lap lane safety.
No Swim Meet Commitments.

Spring Conditioning
Get ready for the summer swim season with our 6-week Spring Conditioning Program! This program will focus on stroke technique, turns, starts, and endurance training to build strength, speed and confidence in the water. Our expert coaching staff will break down each aspect of your swim to refine technique while also improving overall conditioning. Whether you’re looking to fine-tune your skills, or boost your endurance, this program is the perfect way to dive into summer competition feeling strong and prepared!
Requirement criteria for New Members:
100 yards freestyle with flip turns; 50 yards backstroke; 50 yards breaststroke; 25 yards butterfly; 2 minute tread

Practice Times: Monday through Thursday between 6pm-9pm depending on practice group. No minimum requirement for attendance; recommended to attend at least 2x/week.
